Prevacid (lansoprazole) is a proton pump inhibitor which reduces the production of stomach acid. It is widely used to treat acid reflux disease and other disorders resulting from production of excess stomach acid.
This product does not replace fast-acting antacids used for heartburn relief. Antacids may continue to be taken as needed for fast relief.
Why Buy Prevacid?
The majority of patients buy Prevacid to treat frequent heartburn or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). While it does not provide immediate relief from heartburn symptoms, Prevacid has proven effective at mitigating heartburn over time while allowing any esophagus damage to heal.
Clients also buy Prevacid to treat or prevent stomach and intestinal ulcers. It is particularly helpful in preventing ulcers resulting from use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). When used in conjunction with one or more other medications it aids in prevention and healing of ulcers resulting from certain types of bacteria.
The Prevacid name is well-known and widely recommended by physicians around the world for treatment of heartburn and stomach or intestinal ulcers.
Taking Prevacid:
Prevacid comes in time-release capsules, gelatin capsules, and orally dissolving tablets. Depending on strength of the product and patient location, a prescription may be required to buy Prevacid.
Prevacid is typically taken once per day before a meal. It should be taken at the same time each day. More frequent doses may be recommended when used in conjunction with other medications to treat bacterial ulcers, in which case physician instructions should be followed.
Missed doses should be skipped and the next dose taken at the regular time.
Duration of treatment varies between two to twelve weeks depending on the condition being treated and according to physician recommendations. Treatment may be repeated every four to six months if needed.
Tablets and capsules should not be cut, chewed, or crushed. Tablets may be dissolved in liquid and capsules may be opened and sprinkled on food, provided the food or drink is consumed quickly and in entirety.
Sucralfate should not be taken within 30 minutes of taking Prevacid.
Prevacid does not replace fast-acting heartburn relief products. It may take several days before the effects are felt. It is safe to take antacids as needed for fast heartburn relief while taking this product.
